After about 7 months of an intense wedding season, the year has come to an abrupt end. 2017 has been the busiest year to date for our wedding djs and Masters of Ceremonies. With new employees coming in, and old ones leaving, the talent that we have is unparalleled in our area. That being said, here's what we are looking forward to next year.
In 2017, I attended several conventions by myself. As the owner of the company, I wanted to see if there was any kind of value for my staff in their attending these amazing opportunities for growth. YES. it is definitely worth the time and money to improve and hone your craft; both as a Disc Jockey, and as an MC. We will be attending both Mobile Beat in Las Vegas, and Midwest DJs Live in Milwaukee.
We take great pride in being able to help our couples create amazing weddings for them, their families, and friends. To do this, we MUST train with industry leaders. So, as a team, we will be learning from some of the best DJs in the world. Mark Ferrell, Randy Bartlett, Mike Walter, and many more. Those names might not mean a lot to you, but to DJs, they are the "Mount Rushmore" of entertainment pros.
More Client Meetings!
Information in advance is the key to a successful wedding in my opinion. The more knowledge you have about your couples, the better you can serve them. That being said, we are now going to be having three meetings before the wedding with all of our couples. The "Big picture meeting" is first and covers a lot of the "why" questions. It will allow us (DJ and engaged couple) to drill down and find the reasons that we are doing what we are doing. This way we can create a REAL personalized wedding. Not a cookie cutter affair.
After that we will have a detail oriented meeting, and then a planning/timeline finalization with their headlining DJ and MC. Of course, we are always available for our couples if they have questions, at any time. Unless, of course, we have a wedding that day!
