"The DJ always sets up over there..."

September 18, 2017

There are a lot of things that, as a professional wedding DJ, we hear a lot. We are asked "what time will dinner start?", "What is happening next?". "When can we start dancing?", and the always present "Hey...where's the bathroom?" As professional event coordinators, that is expected and welcomed.  We know that we are the most visible expert at every event we preside over.  At least, when it comes to the guests.

There are times, however, when we are seen as nothing more than a jukebox.  When we are seen as a commodity, it can actually affect the outcome of an event.  In the picture above, we were told that "The dj always sets up in the corner."  As you can see, we were less accessible to the folks on the dance floor.  It is difficult, at times, to have people "get out of their own way" enough to dance at all.  If the person providing entertainment is not easily accessible to the guests, it is even tougher.  The DJ needs to be able to create a bond with the guests, and create a welcoming atmosphere on the dance floor.

At A+ Event Entertainment we are co-creators with our clients.  We offer helpful suggestions for many things; some of them aren't even DJ related.  Our clients tell us time and time again that we were very helpful both during, and before the event.  Your entertainer should be there every step of the way to help create a timeline, help with the music selections, and building a floor plan that allows the event to flow smoothly.

In Northern Michigan....A+ Event Entertainment is one of very few companies that will do that for you.
